The Homestead

It's official! Theresa and I have put the wheels in motion on the building of a new home. All the hard work, specifically Theresa's scrupulous saving and thrifty spending, as well as years of dedication to her education, has paid off in spades.

The specifics: 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, approximately 2500 square feet, two story. We chose a lot in the cul-de-sac (for a premium) that will give us a huge backyard. The floorplan is great because we really like it and we got to actually walk through it in the model home.

The builder says it will only take 4 to 5 months. The new community boasts a community pool and park area. There's also great walkways which is nice for walking the dog. And the incentives offered by the builder in addition to the $8,000 tax credit have made it a outstanding opportunity.
