The shop called this morning and said they were unable to find an alternator in town. The whole town of Iowa City is out of protoge alternators. And, it will take a day or two to get one.
Naturally, I couldn't believe it, but when I called around the closest alternator I could find was in Kansas City and that was from the Mazda dealer.
There is so much I like about living in Iowa. It's clean, there's no traffic, and it is near the top of the list in education and health, but when it comes to stuff like this it's just ridiculous.
