Sub-Zero Conditions

The temperature today is around 1 degree and if that's not enough to make you shiver wind chills at this temperature, with a wind of only 10-15 mph, are cold enough to cause frost bite in minutes.

Schools are closed, sheets of ice still cover many roads, and little by little snow continues to pile up. It's officially the worst winter I've ever experienced in Iowa.

Tee found this icicle hanging off one of the buildings on her way home from work last night.

Thanks to a good friend, who woke up early, braved the weather and road conditions to give Tee and I a ride out to Hertz. We now have groceries and transportation for the next couple of days in the form of a Chevy Cobalt.
